Think On These Things (13)

Proverbs 4:23 [AMP]

“Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.”

The believer is supposed to be a person who has mastered the use of his heart so that he can enjoy the blessings of God prepared for him before the foundation of the world. Your eyes, ears, mouth and tongue are gateways that must be heavily guarded if your heart will produce fruits that abide unto eternal life. Thinking the right thoughts is dependent on being filled with the right contents that make for life. Being intentional is one important way to guard and keep your heart. Having it in mind that Christ wants to be King in your life, you will therefore be more willing to purify your heart and not allow corruption to enter into it.

When the heart is cleansed from corruption, thinking aright becomes a reality. You must always remember that your eyes are meant to behold wondrous things in the Word of God – Psalm 119:18 – “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.” Your ears are meant to hear glad tidings – Acts.13.48 – “And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.” Your tongue and mouth is meant for preaching, teaching and singing psalms unto God – Colossians 3:16 – “Let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with [His] grace in your hearts.”

You can live a pure thought-life if you can give yourself to the Word of God. The Word of God is a purifier in all its form of expression either you read, hear or speak it. Therefore, do not be a stranger in the place of studying the Word of God for this is the only place you can know the words to think about.

Confession: Daily, I jealously guard my heart against all forms of evil thoughts that breed ungodly actions.
