Matthew 12:34 (AMP)

“You offspring of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil (wicked)? FOR OUT OF THE FULLNESS (THE OVERFLOW, THE SUPERABUNDANCE) OF THE HEART THE MOUTH SPEAKS.”

Every farmer has a desire, and that is to have good fruits or produce from their crops, but desire alone won’t make this a reality for them and so they need to take deliberate steps to achieve their desires. Taking good care of the crops in order to avoid it from being diseased is one thing the farmer must not stop doing. So, with this kind of understanding, Jesus told His listeners in Matthew 12:33 that the kind of fruit you get from a tree is dependent on the well-being of the tree. How well is your heart?

For many days now, you have had a lot to think upon and feed your heart with, have you allowed these great thoughts to begin to shape your life and relationships? No man can do more than the state of his heart which is why it is important for us to feed our hearts well with things pertaining to life and flush out death from inside us. The mouth expresses what has taken root in your heart over time which is why you must not allow your heart feed on junks and things that do not edify. Do you know why? It is because you have been called out of darkness into light.

You do not have a darkened mind again ever since the light of Christ has shone upon you. And to sustain the impact of this light in your life, you must not allow your heart to wander into darkness and its works, never again. Guard you heart diligently for out of its abundance, your mouth speaks and you act. Let that which overflows from your heart be life and light, not death and darkness. This is the true way to live.
