Love Is Not Jealous

1 Corinthians 13:4 (AMPC)

“Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.”

‎Being a believer means you have signed up for seeing things going well and right with your neighbours, while you might be struggling; however, you must not be envious of that which God has done for them; rather, you must rejoice with and thank God for them. A jealous man is a blind man. Jealousy blinds you and makes you unable to see God’s goodness in your life. Jealousy shifts

your gaze from what God has done for you to what He hasn’t. Jealousy makes you incapable of thanksgiving. An ungrateful person can not receive more from God. Love is not jealous. When we become jealous of others’ progress, we should know that it’s not love at work. The spirit of love wishes others well without any ill feeling. Consciously remind yourself that you’re a child of God who is filled with the love of God. The love of God is not Jealous. Rejoice with your brethren and continually thank God for what you have and trust Him for what you don’t.

‎There are things you possess that others don’t have, and there are things others have, that you don’t possess. Everybody doesn’t have everything, and you have something that everybody doesn’t have. Cultivate the heart of thanksgiving towards others’ success, and don’t forget to consider God’s goodness in your life also. Be happy for others with whatever they have or have achieved. This is the heart of love.

Confession: I practice the act of rejoicing with others while they make progress.
