1 Corinthians 13:7 NLT
“Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”
Despite the sinful state of man, God did not give up on man. Instead, He sent His son, who came through the same man. The love of God towards mankind didn’t deem man hopeless. Why then should we see our fellow brother hopeless and without help? Christ’s love toward Peter didn’t deem him hopeless even after he denied Christ three times. Hope is a picture of a thing. Even when things don’t seem to look like it, because of the love of Christ in us, we should never stop hoping for the betterment of our brothers and others.
When your brother is hopeless, discouraged, or confused, you don’t join him in the charade of hopelessness; instead, you help him regain his hope in Christ. There will never be a time when there won’t be hope for a child of God. We work in love by helping ourselves to regain hope in hopeless situations, pointing our gaze to what the scriptures say about such situations.
The gathering of believers is where hope should be strengthened and not vice versa. Even the most foolish expectation that seems impossible should be considered hopeful in our midst, for there’s nothing impossible for God to do. Let’s walk in hope always in God.
Confession: I live in hope, and I speak the language of hope to others.
