Daniel 3:17-18 (AMP)

“If our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, He will deliver us out of your hand, O King. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image which you have set up!”

The belief of a man is one that will always be questioned and put to the test by circumstances and situations in life, which he doesn’t have control over, but his response to them is his choice every moment. Nothing happens without a purpose, and that you don’t know the purpose of a situation doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a reason for its occurrence. Christians have a divine call upon them, which is the call to be different, standing tall when everyone is bowing to the world system, shining as light when every other person has allowed darkness complete rule over them.

In our text for today, we’ll see how these three Hebrew men refused to bow to the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had built despite his decree. Out of thousands of people that chose to bow to this image, some willingly and some for fear of being thrown into the fiery furnace, these young men decided to stand upright, maintaining the truth that it is only God that deserves that kind of homage and worship from them, and not a golden image moulded by the wisdom of men. These men obviously grew above the pressure of men and chose to stand for God.

Their lives serve as an example for Christians today, Christians who, because of pressure, have decided to compromise their faith and not hold on to the truth of God’s word. No man can make a difference in this world if he is not ready to stand for God when others are bowing to lesser gods in their spheres of influence. God desires that you also become a man He can trust not to be defiled by the system of this present world. Choose this day whom you would stand with, God or the philosophy of men that do not save? Choose wisely.

 Confession: I choose to stand for God without compromise, irrespective of the pressures of the world.
