Philippians 4:4 (AMP)
“Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, gladden yourselves in Him]; again I say, Rejoice!”
Every man on earth presently has every reason to do something else than rejoice, and Satan has helped to complicate matters, with many staying in depression and sadness for the reason that life has not been treating them well and fairly. Nothing in this world has the ability to give humans a lasting and constant joy, for all that is in the world is darkness, which doesn’t have any tangible gift to offer. But when the Son of God came, light and life came, bringing hope to those who have long lost it and strengthening the feeble and weakened minds. And that is in the person of Jesus Christ; it is in Him that joy and hope come, and for that the Scripture proclaims joy to the world at His birth.
Men of Faith are men who have accepted Jesus Christ and the joy He gives even in very difficult and challenging situations. The Holy Spirit given by Jesus when He left the world is saddled with the responsibility of comforting sons and daughters of God here on earth, for Christ knew that every man at one point or another would need to be comforted. Christ never promised a smooth sail in this world, but He encouraged His own to be of good cheer, for He has overcome the world. Joy is a spiritual state, and it is not circumstantial; it is given by the Holy Spirit, and thus it is a fruit of the Spirit mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23.
Therefore, beloved, one truth is that there will always be a circumstance or situation that will tend to make you unhappy; it might be a challenge, a delay, or a disappointing situation. The charge this day is that you should rejoice and gladden your heart in the Lord. Men whose hearts are full of joy always live life with so much strength to withstand everything and anything. Never base your joy on the happenings in the world but on the truth that the Holy Spirit, who is the Comforter, is in you. Dare to be different in your response to situations around you. When others are depressed, be joyous, giving thanks to God always in your heart, for it is in Him that you draw strength and grace to withstand all. May the joy of the Lord continually be with you.
Confession: No matter the situation I am in, I remain joyous in the Lord.
