Jeremiah 1:5 (AMP)
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you [and approved of you as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I consecrated you [to Myself as My own]; I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
Ministry is one of the most discussed topics amongst Christian folks in recent times. Every true ministry begins with a call. God’s call is not based on fame, interest, desire, or comparison but on divine purpose. There is the general call to salvation, which everyone who would be a Christian must respond to. And there is the specific, special call, which is for those who would serve God in a certain capacity in the Kingdom.
However, whoever has not accepted the call to salvation does not qualify to answer and walk in line with the second call. Unfortunately, many are not yet saved but profess themselves to be ministers of God. Such people might work, but their works have no reward because they have no relationship with the Sender. You must know that God is not so much about your work for Him as He is about your walk with Him. Are you saved?
Jeremiah was called by God to be a prophet to the nations. He didn’t choose nor call himself; God did. Likewise, your role in ministry, whether in teaching, drama, music, evangelism, or service, is divinely designed. Many step into roles because they look glamorous, but ministry is not a stage for self-promotion; it is a place of assignment. To walk in God’s will, you must first recognize that you are called by God, not by your human desire. Don’t go into a ministry God has not called you into because you failed in business or in any other way, and you believe ministry is the last option. Don’t go into ministry because you want to be known or because your friends are doing well there. Not every good thing is good for you. Stay with God; let him lead you to the right place to go and the ministry to serve.
Confession: I am led by God to play my part in the service of the Kingdom.
