Proverbs 19:21 (AMP)

Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand (be carried out).

One of the eternal mistakes that has been discovered that many make in respect to the Call is allowing the leading of human logic more than the leading of the Lord by His Spirit. You must never forget that the Lord who has called you is also the one responsible for directing and leading you. In life and ministry, there will be different voices from left, right, front and back. Friends, family, spouse and children will make their suggestions and opinions. Some will tell you to move faster, while some will tell you to slow down. But in all, the only voice that truly matters is the voice of God.

Failure in ministry starts when you lead your life as a minister by the standards and voices of people around you. You must be able to shut out the noise from outside in order to listen to the Voice from inside. Whatever plans you are executing in ministry, be sure it is God leading you. Ministry cannot be done to please man because whatever capacity you are called to, it is an audience of One.

Do not walk out of God’s plan and directio,n no matter the suggestion or expectation. Walking in God’s will requires sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, even when His leading contradicts human logic. God’s direction may lead you to hidden places, not platforms. But every step of obedience builds eternal impact. Take time to seek God’s direction concerning your current ministry path. Are you moving in obedience to His voice or reacting to people’s opinions? Take a thoughtful examination of your walk and work.
