Numbers 25:7-8 (NKJV)

“Now when Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose from among the congregation and took a javelin in his hand; and he went after the man of Israel into the tent and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her body. So the plague was stopped among the children of Israel.”

The line between the CHURCH (the people of God) and the World keep getting blurry every day, we keep on compromising the FAITH we once claimed to stand for and throwing our BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES under the bus. This is a sad reality of our days. Many compromise what they stand for because they want to receive applause and approval from the world.

Phineas was a young man who couldn’t stand the ROTTENESS and IMMORALITIES around him. Standing up for what is right ended the plague and made him bag a covenant with God. So also we need the PHINEASES in this time. Those who will not compromise, those who will stubbornly stand out and stand for righteousness alone, those whose sight can’t behold the ROTTENNESS in the church, those who at their place of work won’t forge document no matter the pressure, those who won’t cheat in the exam hall because of the fear of failure, those who won’t “adjust” their scale for more profit in the market place and those who won’t use the PULPIT to beguile people.

If Phineas could stand out amidst his colleagues under the LAW, we don’t have excuse for compromise in this era of Grace. Make up your mind to stand out for Jesus wherever you find yourself and in whatsoever you’re doing. That’s the way to truly live as light of the world.
