Galatians 5:22 AMP
“But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”
The love of God in us is a prove that God dwells in us. One of the greatest evidence and first evidence of transformation by the Spirit in the life of a man is a life full of love. The fruit of the spirit is a measure of how much you’ve grown and how much you’ve allowed the workings of the Spirit in you. A life of love is a life of growth and yiededness.
God’s love in us makes us sacrificial. The greatest way God showed love to mankind is through sacrifice. The love of Christ also constrains you. Your love for God shapes your behavior, your attitude, your actions and your response to certain things. The love of Christ makes one overlook wrongdoings. We’ll be quick to let go of hurt, move on and forgive.
The love of Christ in us also makes us love ourselves. We won’t see ourselves from the lenses of frustration, discouragement and hopelessness. Instead, we would embrace what God has spoken about us in His word and honour His temple, our body. Living by the standards of God’s love makes us Christians indeed.
However, it should be noted, this cannot be achieved without the Holy Spirit. The longer we build intimacy with the Holy Spirit, in studying the word, praying and obedience, the more we experience transformation. A transformed man is a saved man.
Confession: The love of God has been shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Ghost.
