Adedimeji woke every morning to the same routine – he swept the small room he lived in, fetched water from a nearby stream, and watched strangers pass through the vast lands surrounding his house. They built structures, set up boundaries, and enforced rules, sometimes even ordering him around. He obeyed quietly, believing he had no right to question them.
One evening, while cleaning an old box his father left behind, he found dusty documents and a ring sealed with authority. As he read, his hands trembled. The land, the hills, the forests, and the pathways the strangers occupied were all listed under his name. The ring was a signet, proving that his father had entrusted the entire estate to him.
Nothing changed overnight. The strangers were still there, the land still looked the same. But one thing shifted: his understanding. He was not a tenant, not a victim but the very heir who lived beneath his inheritance. The strangers continued to occupy the land, not because the estate was lost, but because the owner never exercised his authority.
God never created man to be a spectator on earth. From the beginning, territories were entrusted to men who bore His image and carried His authority. Dominion was not political or economic first; it was spiritual authority expressed through obedience to God.
Adam did not lose the earth to Satan by conquest; he yielded influence through disobedience. Darkness gained access where righteous responsibility was abandoned, yet God’s ownership of the earth was never compromised but man’s position within it.
Through redemption in Christ, believers are restored to God’s original mandate. Salvation is not an escape from earthly responsibility; it is a reinstatement into authorized stewardship, and wherever God places a disciple, He expects His rule to be manifested.
You are not merely present in your environment, you are accountable for it.

Confession: I acknowledge God’s authority over the earth and His image within me. I reject spiritual passivity and negligence. I receive grace to exercise dominion through obedience. The territory God has entrusted to me will reflect His Kingdom, in Jesus’ name.
