“To You belongs silence [the submissive wonder of reverence], and [it bursts into] praise in Zion, O God; And to You the vow shall be performed. O You who hear prayer, To You all mankind comes.” – Psalm 65:1-2 (AMP)

Man is a being created to be dependent upon God and it becomes a problem when man desires to be independent of God and give no regard nor honour to His Supremacy or power to do and bring to pass. It is evil for man to think he can be independent of God because he was originally designed that way and anytime man lives a life against his natural and original design of God, he commits evil in God’s presence.

Prayer is one for of worship that every Being takes up and this is prayer to God, not to any idol. The way God designed it is that all flesh must come to Him for life and survival and fulfillment. If a man will worship God truly, he must learn dependence on God. The rebellious nature of man after the fall wants to be free from this natural order things, but all the more reason he needs to depend on God because he cannot save himself no matter how hard he tries.

Dear Believer, never come to a place where you feel like you don’t need to come to God. God’s arms are always wide open to receive you and you must have a heart that sustains this dependence on God. It is not of God when you begin to think you don’t need God. So, your prayers, when prayed in total trust and dependence on God, is a strong form of worship. For in this act, the heart is surrendered to God and He is allowed to take preeminence. Do you pray always?

Practical Application: Have you ever thought you were worshipping God when you engage in every form of prayers, either for self or for others?

Confession: I am of God and I depend on Him for life and Godliness. He is my Creator and it is in Him that I live, move and have my being. I am nothing without Him for His grace sustains me always. I am not stranded.
