I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES (11)

“When He had said this, He spat on the ground and made mud with His saliva, and He spread the mud [like an ointment] on the man’s eyes. And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went away and washed, and came back seeing.” – John 9:6-7 (AMP)

There are actions that bring expected miracles to reality. And this was the case of the man that was born blind. In John 9, the story of this man and how he received his miracle was narrated. Jesus was passing by with His disciples and He saw this man that was born blind. Jesus must have known this because of His divine nature – the Omnipotent. This further reveals that Jesus knows all that you go through, nothing is hidden from His knowledge.

This man was not the first blind man Jesus would heal but there were peculiarities to how he got his healing. Jesus spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. What intentionality! But that was not all. Many people wonder why some receive miracles instantly and theirs seem to go through certain processes before they are realized. God, the One who does all things, does whatever He desires anyhow He wants.

After the anointing, Jesus instructed him to go wash in the pool of Siloam. The healing did not come until this man took the step. And since he was blind, someone must have helped him get to the pool in order to wash. It is important to pay attention to instructions that will activate the miracles you’ve prayed for. It is a great undoing to pray for miracles and not wait to receive instructions from the Lord concerning the matter. Many people have missed out on their miracles because they didn’t pay attention or they didn’t obey simple instructions.

You must know that miracles can be instantaneous or progressive. This man’s miracle was progressive. Having this understanding will help you to fight doubt, stubbornness and disobedience to instructions. Don’t allow the devil make you think God is not working just because it is not visible yet. Just as Jesus was silently making the clay whilst the blind man waited, God is working on that situation as you wait. Don’t lose heart and be ready to take the step of faith when the instruction comes for it.

Reflections: Have I allowed doubt in my heart because God was silent in His workings in my life? Am I ready to follow every instruction that will birth forth my miracle?

Confession: My ears are attentive to the instructions of the Lord and I obey them promptly. I will not allow logic make me lose out on what God intends to do in my life. For me, miracles are real and they are manifested in my life daily.
