Missionaries need more than our applause; they need our prayers, encouragement, and practical support. The advancement of the Gospel requires more than the commitment of those who go. It also requires the faithful participation of those who pray, give, encourage, and stand behind the work. Missions is not the responsibility of missionaries alone; it is a responsibility we share as members of the Body of Christ.
As part of our 30 Days Intercession for Missions in Africa, we are bringing the work and labour of a missionary before the Lord, trusting God for renewed strength, greater fruitfulness, and the continued advancement of His Kingdom.
Pastor OlorunFemi Akin-Olowoyo Enitan is a missionary pastor serving rural communities in Oberan, with another mission station in Solademi, under the Lightbearers Christian Network. His ministry involves the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, evangelism, discipleship, and the establishment of biblical Christian communities among rural dwellers.
Missionary work often involves demanding seasons of labour, sacrifice, prayer, and perseverance. Beyond what is visible in the growth of a congregation or the establishment of a mission station, there is a labourer who must continually give himself to prayer, the ministry of the Word, and the work of the Gospel.
The work in Oberan and Solademi represents an ongoing commitment to making Christ known in communities where the Gospel must be faithfully proclaimed and disciples intentionally raised.
As we intercede for missions across Africa, let us remember this servant of God and the responsibility committed to his hands.
LET US PRAY
We invite you to join us in lifting Pastor OlorunFemi, his family, and the mission fields under his care before the Lord.
1. Pray that God will continually renew his strength, preserve his health, and sustain him physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Ask the Lord to grant him the grace to remain steadfast through the demands and challenges of missionary service.
2. Pray for fresh grace, spiritual depth, wisdom, and increased effectiveness in preaching, teaching, evangelism, and discipleship. May his ministry continually flow from a deep and living relationship with Christ.
3. Pray for the advancement of the Gospel in Oberan, Solademi, and neighbouring villages. Ask God to open hearts to the Gospel, establish opportunities for effective witness, and draw many people into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
4. Pray that those who come to faith through the ministry will not remain mere converts but will become established disciples of Jesus Christ. May they grow in the knowledge of God’s Word, develop spiritual maturity, and become faithful witnesses in their communities.
5. Pray that the churches emerging from these mission fields will be firmly established on biblical foundations. May they become communities of mature disciples, sound doctrine, genuine fellowship, and active participation in the Great Commission. Pray also that these churches will reproduce disciples and become instruments for reaching other unreached communities.
6. Pray for the financial, material, and human resources required to sustain the work and advance the mission. Ask God to raise faithful partners, provide essential ministry resources, and strengthen the hands of everyone contributing to the work.
7. Pray for God’s protection over Pastor OlorunFemi and his family. Ask the Lord to preserve their health, peace, unity, and stability. May the demands of ministry never come at the expense of the well-being of his home.
MISSIONS IS A RESPONSIBILITY WE SHARE
The work of missions cannot be sustained by the labour of missionaries alone. Those who go need those who pray. Those who preach need those who encourage. Those who plant need others who will stand with them until the work becomes established. We may not all be called to the same mission field, but we can all participate in the advancement of the Gospel.
As we pray for Pastor OlorunFemi and the mission fields in Oberan and Solademi, may God also stir our hearts to become more intentional about our responsibility towards the unfinished task of world evangelisation.
Pray for missionaries. Encourage missionaries. Support the work of missions.
Until the Last Village Hears, We Will Keep Praying.
Making Christ Known in Rural Africa. Raising Disciples. Reaching African Nations.
