Daniel and His Friends (6)

Daniel 3:28 (AMP)

“Then Nebuchadnezzar said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, Who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who believed in, trusted in, and relied on Him! And they set aside the king’s command and yielded their bodies rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.”

Every man who has been born of God goes through a process whereby his faith is put to the test in order to rattle his beliefs and also ascertain if he can stand by what he says he believes. No Christian grows without having his faith in God tested and tried, just like gold is tried in a furnace of fire. A Christian is to be with the thoughts that at any and every moment challenges arise against him; it is to the end that he is proved, that the genuineness of his belief is evident to all. Throughout the pages of the Scriptures, men who lived differently for God were men tested of their faith in God and were found to shine like gold with much value. Genuine Christians are a product of fire, which can be termed to be challenges and situations that show the world who they really believe in.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stood for God when every other person was bowing to a golden image. Obviously, they were not the only Jews there at that time, and other Jews would have bowed down to the image for fear of the fiery furnace, but these three men stood up straight and stayed with God. Many Christians fall victim to denying and betraying God today because they have decided to copy and imitate others. What can only be imitated in this kingdom is Christ-likeness; every other thing apart from this might lead a man to live in error. As the king had promised, these three Hebrew men were thrown into the fire whose intensity had been increased by seven. But something happened.

When they were bound and thrown into the furnace, the men who threw them into the furnace were killed by the heat coming from the furnace, not just men, but able-bodied men while those that were thrown inside the furnace were loose and were walking freely in the midst of the fire and praising God, whilst the Son of God joined them in the fire. Whatever trying moment you are going through is not the end for you; in fact, Christ is with you in the fire, strengthening and encouraging you. Just trust Him. Men who made a difference in their walk with God were men who trusted God even when they saw death, and at the end, God was glorified. These men were delivered, and God was glorified. Beloved, to make a difference, you must have faith in and trust God.

Confession: I have decided to stand out for God, and I will not go back on this.
