When Obedience Takes You Away from Comfort!
This week, despite the economic crisis and the insecurity, many people will still travel home. Some will cook special food, like they have never done this year at all, others will wear new clothes, and sit with their families to celebrate Christmas, but you may be somewhere else, on the field, in a village, in a far away place from your home and your family where nobody even remembers you are special to some people.
And you may be asking yourself, “Is this really what God wants for my life?”
Yes, it is.
You should be aware that even Jesus also, before He was born in a manger, He first left heaven. He left comfort. He left glory. He left what was familiar. God did not send Him to a palace but sent Him to a place where there was no space, no attention, and no honour. Yet that was where salvation began.
So if obedience has taken you far from home, far from your family, and far from enjoyment, you are not alone and it is not strange. God often sends His servants away from comfort so that His love can reach people who have been forgotten or have been unreached.
Don’t think your sacrifice is small because nobody is clapping for you – heaven is watching. God sees the Christmas you are missing, the food you did not eat, and the comfort you laid down. None of it is wasted.
You are not absent from celebration, you are actually part of something deeper. While others are celebrating with family, you are standing in the gap for souls.
Remain there. Stay faithful. Stay obedient.
The work did not start in the manger, it started with a yes.
