1 Corinthians 4:1-2 (AMP)
“So then, let us [who minister] be regarded as servants of Christ and stewards (trustees, administrators) of the mysteries of God [that He chooses to reveal]. In this case, moreover, it is required [as essential and demanded] of stewards that one be found faithful and trustworthy.”
Every minister, regardless of office and capacity, must never forget that they are servants and stewards of God’s grace and His mysteries; thus, faithfulness is a non-negotiable essential. The One whom we serve sees all that is done for Him and by His name. Faithfulness means to carry out the responsibilities of the call heartily and committedly. Examination comes before promotion, and one of the ways God examines us is through our faithfulness. God tests faithfulness before promotion. Many desire the spotlight but neglect the small beginnings.
David served faithfully as a shepherd before facing Goliath. Before anyone knew David in the country, God had seen how faithful, passionate, and committed he was to keeping his father’s sheep. He was willing to die to save a sheep of the fold from the class of death. And this is how he is portrayed again when he puts his life on the line to fight against Goliath. Someone with such a heart was who God wanted as a leader of His people.
Joseph managed Potiphar’s house and a prison faithfully before managing a nation. He didn’t fail while he was being tested, and that qualified him for a bigger stage. The will of God often unfolds in hidden seasons. When you prove trustworthy in the little, God entrusts you with more. The secret to long-term success in ministry is consistency, humility, and faithfulness even when no one is watching. Please be faithful. Even when no one can see the work you do, God sees, and he will reward you in due time. If you are getting tired, be strengthened. Don’t stop because your reward is near.
Confession: In a world of compromise, I choose to be faithful with God’s assignment committed to me.
