GOD’S REPRESENTATIVES, NOT REPLACEMENT (14)

“This is the message just as I have told Pharaoh: God has shown Pharaoh what He is about to do.” – Genesis 41:28 (AMP)

Every time God interferes in the affairs of nations, it is to prove to and remind every man that He is the One who is in charge of the affairs of men. No wisdom or power can exist without His authority and even great kingdoms and empires were made to bow in reverence of Him. And this was what played out during the time Joseph, the eleventh of Jacob was in Egypt because his brothers sold him as a slave.

After spending years in Egypt, God came and decided to do something that would shake the whole world. Joseph was in the prison for a crime he didn’t commit at the time but God had him in mind. God showed Pharaoh a dream twice with different characters and this really troubled the king. By divine providence, God caused Joseph to be remembered as one with the ability to interpret dreams. He was called upon and he interpreted Pharaoh’s dream and also gave a solution to the imminent problem.

As Joseph interpreted the dream and gave the solution, he made it clear that both the dream and the interpretation came from God and it was to reveal the purpose of God for the world at the time. This earned Joseph an honourable place in Pharaoh’s palace. Now, when he gave birth to children, his children’s names suggest that he recognized the God who had delivered from affliction and also made him forget his father’s house. He never at any point exalt himself in Egypt as one with any greatness outside God.

There are men whom God have used to answer to the problems of nations and territories but they in turn exalted themselves above the God who gave them the wisdom. Every believer is supposed to be a light anywhere they are and you must remain submitted to Christ who is your Source. Never attempt to see yourself as one who doesn’t need God for the greatness he’s attained. Always let it be publicly known that you are of God and all that He does through you are from Him.

Reflections: Am I deserving to be called one who is like Joseph in my generation? Do I truly acknowledge God as the source of my wisdom and not my academic prowess and excellence?

Confession: The Spirit of wisdom and excellence is inside me. I am ten times better than my colleagues. I stand tall and firm in the purpose of God.
