God’s Will in Marriage (6)

Genesis 2:18 AMP

“Now the Lord God said, “It is not good (beneficial) for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper [one who balances him—a counterpart who is] suitable and complementary for him.”

Marriage is not just companionship; it’s ministry. It’s a covenant relationship with God at the center. Every godly marriage preaches the gospel of love, forgiveness, and faithfulness. When couples understand their union as a divine assignment, selfishness fades and service grows. This basic truth distinguishes a Christian marriage from that of the people of the world. You must know that your home is important to God.

Singles should see marriage not just as fulfillment but as a partnership for purpose. Marriage is not for show. It is not a platform to prove a point or ‘pepper people,’ but God’s divine arrangement for the establishment of his kingdom and purpose on earth. Marriage is supposed to aid the fulfillment of purpose. Which is why every single person must marry someone who understands their purpose and is willing to walk with them to fulfill it.

Marriage is also a school of practical learning, unlearning, sacrifice and selflessness. A home built on covenant, not convenience, becomes a testimony of God’s will. In marriage, God must be the ultimate controller of the affairs of the couple for it to be a kingdom marriage. What God desires must be what the couples will desire. Never leave God out of your marriage, no matter what you are going through.

Confession: God is at the center of my marriage, and I walk with Him to ensure that its purpose is fulfilled.
