John 10:27 (AMP)
“The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me.”
The Word of God, the Scripture, contains the things the Lord has said and this serves as a foundation to the things He will say or is saying. God speaks through His word. The word of truth comes from the Truth Himself. There’s no truth outside God’s truth. Only the truth can teach us what is true. The witness you have in your heart must be traced back to the Word.
The Word of God is the surest way of hearing God’s voice. You can decide to speak God’s word out to your hearing. The voice of the Lord must correlate with His word and not against His word. Walking with God is made easy when we go by His word. We are not confused or perplexed.
The word of God is a primary way God speaks to us. We must learn to sit with the word. We must learn to dine with the word. We must learn to believe the word and agree with the word to make it work out for us.
Practice: Pick a verse of the scripture and loudly declare it to your hearing throughout the day. You can as well do this every day, and you will discover how powerfully God speaks through the Written Word. Instead of waiting for a dramatic experience, stay with the Word and be humble enough to receive the truths therein into your heart.
Confession: The Word of God is what I stay with, and I am not led astray, but I understand the mind of God for me.
