John 10:27 (AMP)
“The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me.”
There are gifts of the Spirit, which, when active and alive in us, can be the means through which God speaks to us. One of such is seeing visions or falling into a trance. This is kind of like a dream, because you have no physical awareness, but it comes suddenly and comes under the atmosphere of prayer and meditation. In trances, it is as you grow that you’ll see deeper into the mysteries of God. The more you grow, the more you see, and the more you have understanding for interpretation.
Every means through which God speaks to us must be subjected to the scrutiny of the word of God. So even what you see and how it is interpreted must be aligned with God’s word. You can see and interpret in agreement with what God disagrees with if you lack the accurate knowledge of God’s Word. A trance that’s from God will be sponsored by the Spirit of God, purely the Spirit of God.
To preserve the channel through which the Lord speaks to us is to pray and engage in intensive Bible study. You shouldn’t be negligent because of too much confidence in God’s gift to you. Preservation comes from God’s presence, and never trade it for the pleasure that comes with the gift. God should be first in everything. After all, He gave you the ability to see.
Watch what you watch and see. What you feed your spirit is what you’ll get. If you feed it with God’s word, you’re sure to have God’s word speak to you. You are safe with the word of God.
Confession: I see accurately, and I hear with precision, and I understand God’s Word to me.
