“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

Joshua had been struggling to make a major career decision. He prayed, but nothing seemed working. One afternoon, he sat quietly, asking the LORD for guidance and a specific thought kept coming to his mind repeatedly, nudging him towards a direction he had been avoiding. He initially ignored it, thinking it was coincidence, but the impression persisted. Joshua finally obeyed and later discovered that the path he had been guided to led to breakthrough opportunities and favour beyond what he had imagined.

Hearing God’s voice requires attentiveness, patience, and obedience. God communicates in multiple ways such as through Scripture, circumstances, inner promptings, and even wise counsel, but His sheep recognize His voice and follow Him. The difference between those who hear the LORD and those who do not is the willingness to pause, listen, and act. Obedience is the natural result of hearing. Developing sensitivity to God’s voice is an ongoing process that demands intentional quietness, reflection, and openness to His Spirit and just as Joshua learnt, ignoring the guidance of God can delay blessings, but responding faithfully positions you for growth and favour.

Practical Application
Today, identify one decision or situation where God’s guidance is needed. Pause, pray, and ask Him to speak to you clearly. Listen attentively and write down impressions, thoughts, or Scriptures that come to mind.

Confession
I hear the voice of God clearly and follow His instructions promptly. I am sensitive to His guidance, and His Spirit leads me in every area of my life. I trust Him to direct my steps, and my decisions align perfectly with His will. I am confident, courageous, and empowered as I act according to God’s voice, and blessings follow my obedience in abundance.
