How to Walk in God’s Will (3)

John 16:13 AMP

“But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth [full and complete truth]. For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears [from the Father—the message regarding the Son], and He will disclose to you what is to come [in the future]. “

The compass a believer needs to navigate life is the Holy Spirit. John 16:13 says, “When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth.” The Holy Spirit is there to give us instructions, nudges, perceptions, and convictions that align with God’s truth. Sometimes, He guides us through a strong impression in our heart,  inner peace or sense of caution. In some cases, he reminds us of scriptures that are relevant to the situation we are in.

If you want to walk in God’s perfect will, you must be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. The major way to cultivate this sensitivity is by abiding in God’s presence through intimacy with God – prayers, the word of God and deep worship. There is no substitute for the importance of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

What the Holy Spirit has been sent to do in the life of every believer is to guide us in our walk in God’s perfect will. Sensitivity to the leading of the Holy Spirit makes the difference between a logical and a spirit-led Christian. Exalt the dictates of the Spirit above that of logic, for by doing this, you will be more productive in your walk with God.

Confession: I subject my life to the leadership of the Holy Spirit more than I do to my logic or popular opinions.
