I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES (9)

“Then Isaac planted [seed] in that land [as a farmer] and reaped in the same year a hundred times [as much as he had planted], and the Lord blessed and favored him. And the man [Isaac] became great and gained more and more until he became very wealthy and extremely distinguished.” – Genesis 26:12-13 (AMP)

The God of Abraham began to journey with the child, Isaac who was promised to Abraham and Sarah, who is now an adult and married and just as God related with his father, He did with Isaac. Isaac walked with God and on different occasions, he heard God lead him on what to do in certain situations. One of such was when there was famine in the land of Canaan.

Isaac moved to Gerar in the land of the Philistines because of the famine in Canaan. And perhaps he had planned to later go to Egypt, God did warn him not to go down to Egypt but stay where he was and He would make him a great and fruitful man. In every assigned location where God wants us to stay, He has prepared miracles for us to experience.

When neighbouring nations experienced famine, Isaac experienced abundance because he obeyed the instruction of the Lord. Faith and obedience work hand in hand in making you experience miracles. When God speaks and you listen, you are positioned for His wonders.

A lot of believers complain that their lives have nothing supernatural or spectacular, many times, this is because they’ve refused to heed the instructions of the Lord. When you are where God doesn’t want you to be, you will live like a stray sheep without provision and sustenance and you’d only survive because of God’s general extension of mercy towards all humans. Nothing special will happen.

You must learn to hear God and obey Him. This means your relationship with God is very important. It is something you mustn’t joke with. What made Isaac fruitful was his obedience in staying where God wants him to stay and not trying to outsmart God or be wise in his own eyes. Stop jumping around like a prodigal child, stay where God has assigned you. Sometimes, you may not see any blessings where God is telling you to stay but your obedience unlocks lots of blessings for you.

Reflections: Am I where God wants me to be? How obedient am I to you to the instructions I’ve received from God?

Confession: My ears are opened to hear God’s instructions and my heart is humble to obey them. For me, miracles are real and they are manifested in my life daily.
