2 Corinthians 13:14 (AMP)
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the FELLOWSHIP of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”
The Person of the Holy Spirit is a gift from the Lord Jesus Christ to every believer for Help, Comfort, Strength and Counsel in all areas of life. The way Jesus introduced the Holy Spirit to His disciples shows that He is someone they’d have to relate with to fully enjoy Him. Just like the experience of Adam in the Garden of Eden when God would come in the cool of the day to interact with man, the Holy Spirit that has been given to the believer is there for close interactions.
Intimacy means being close with someone and there is almost no secrets hidden between them. What builds a strong connection between two persons is their willingness to be vulnerable and committed to each other. The Holy Spirit is not supposed to be just there in the believer, we must cultivate a thriving relationship with Him through constant FELLOWSHIP.
Many believers do not know that the Holy Spirit is not just for prayers and miracles and manifestation of gifts, He is for comfort and counsel as well and just like a friend would do, He’d always want to see us live in the fullness of who we are. There is no better way to build intimacy with the Holy Spirit than to commune with Him constantly in prayers and also listen to Him when He speaks.
One who doesn’t listen to the Holy Spirit when He speaks cannot be intimate with Him. This makes a huge difference between many believers today. The Holy Spirit wants to be part of our everyday lives but we must show that we want Him to be by paying attention to to His words and relating with Him as we would someone we see physically. Never forget that the Holy Spirit is a PERSON, not a THING.
Confession: I pay attention to the Holy Spirit as I build intimate connections with Him daily.
