Joy

Nehemiah 8:10d

“For the Joy of the LORD is your strength…”

Joy is the inner comfort in the face of challenges and the contentment in times of scarcity. It gives inner strength in the face of challenges. A believer’s state of mood isn’t defined by circumstances, challenges, or situations; happiness is based on happenstance, what really works out and what doesn’t work out. Joy is from the LORD, and it is related to gladness and rejoicing in the Spirit.

The Bible says in the presence of God, there is the fullness of joy; your inability to express that JOY is from your inability to stay in the presence of God to have overflow of the fruit, JOY. In worshipping, praising, praying, and studying comes the fullness of joy. In hell is SORROW and gnashing of teeth, so on the days you’re not expressing JOY, it’s a sign that you are giving room to the devil.

The antidote to sorrows and happiness that is short-lived is the PRESENCE of God. It makes you rejoice when there’s a casting down, it makes you rejoice when there’s a storm, it makes you rejoice in pain and want, and it makes you rejoice in persecutions and trials. Joy is the strength that keeps you going in the presence of a chartered hope.

Confession: I have the joy of the Lord always, which is not defined by situations and happenstance.
