Leave Toxic Relationships

2 Thessalonians 3:16 (AMP)

“Now may the Lord of peace Himself grant you His peace at all times and in every way [that peace and spiritual well-being that comes to those who walk with Him, regardless of life’s circumstances]. The Lord be with you all.”

Man was created by God to be relational, and to survive and thrive, he must relate with other humans and his environment, but not all relationships are good and healthy. Sometimes we are afraid to leave certain relationships because we fear that we might be missing out on God’s will. So we try our best to keep up with those things that are not palatable to us. What if I regret it? You’ll ask yourself.

Firstly, God’s will is not communicated through fear. God’s will doesn’t put in bondage. The fear of missing out or regretting when you step out of a relationship is not sponsored by God’s Spirit. Defeat that fear with prayerful proclamation.

Relationships that constantly make you feel short of yourself and discouraged, and make your flaws glaringly always, are not healthy emotionally, physically, or spiritually for you. Run away from disrespect and emotional manipulation. You’re clothed with glory and honor as a child of God. Why settle for less? Trust God to plant you exactly where He wants when it comes to relationships.

People who subject you to emotional manipulation always have a way to guilt-trip you, make you FEEL, and always make you feel. They know how to exploit feelings and make you remain under the clouds of those feelings when you’re around them. People like that are not good for your mental health, as you won’t have a sound mind with constant confusion as a friend. Frustration from emotional abuse can lead to resentment, which is bad for your spiritual health.

Believers should learn how to walk out of relationships that are toxic and never look back unless there’s a genuine repentance and change. Don’t settle for less when you’re a king and queen.

Confession: I take note of my relationships, and I quit every toxic relationship.
