2 Corinthians 6:4-6 (KJV)

“But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings; [6] by pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned.”

Being soldiers of Christ, it is important to note that enduring hardships and bearing long with others is a character that we must live by and express. Long suffering is bearing long with others without murmuring. Truly, we have difficult people who might be snobbish, argumentative, selfish, insensitive, or rude. They make it difficult for one to relate to them. We have to learn how to be calm while dealing with them and avoid losing our temper or flaring up at difficult people. One way we can suffer long with people is by praying for them and showing them love from the standpoint of Christ.

Also, we need to learn how to endure hardship for Christ. So many believers back out when temptation comes; they let go of holding on to Jesus when life hits them, forgetting that there’s a reward for those who endure to the end. Even Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, endured the cross and despised the shame just because of the joy set ahead of him.

Apostle Paul told us that the sufferings of this present age are nothing compared to the glory that will be revealed in us. Holding on to the faith without wavering should be our daily expression. Soldiers are known for their tenacity and endurance in the face of hardships. Be one as well.
