1 Corinthians 13:4 (AMPC)
“Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.”
Love is long-suffering and enduring. When you love as Christ loves, you can bear the imperfections of your brother. You don’t go about complaining, judging, or criticizing your brother because of your differences. You should know that we are works-in-progress, progressing toward perfection in Christ. And in the process, we should be able to bear one another in love without tearing down our brother.
The fact that your imperfections are not as loud as your brother’s imperfections doesn’t make it any better. We should learn to bear one another in love as we grow together. Only then can we foster a relationship based on God’s love.
We are different people with different temperaments. We might agree on some things, and we might as well disagree. But in all, let’s exercise patience with one another, walking in love and understanding. Let’s be eager and patient to understand others’ perspectives on things and constantly look for ways to settle differences on a peaceful note.
Confession: The path I choose is that of love, and I allow it to lead me always.
