1 Corinthians 13:5 (NLT)
“…Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude…”
Humility is an attribute of the Christian life that was duly lived by Christ Himself. Humility shows you who you are and helps you live as you should. If you’re humble, you’ll realize that all you are, all you will ever be, and all you can ever be can only be from God. When you’ve considered your strength and you understand that only God can lift a man up, then you won’t boast. A boaster is a vain man.
Nebuchadnezzar boasted and disregarded God; the result was the consequence of boasting. God doesn’t like a boaster, someone who flaunts his achievement at any given chance, shoving it in the face of others without regarding God’s help. If you love God, you won’t do what He hates. God expects His children to return all glory to Him, for His glory He won’t share with any man.
God doesn’t like a boaster. When you make mouth, you’re directly or indirectly mocking God’s help, and when you don’t see or acknowledge God’s help, you despise others’ achievements and processes. You’ll hurt others and make them feel sad, and you’ll also dampen their faith and make them feel discouraged. God will certainly not be happy with such actions, and they don’t stem from His love. Let’s make sure we live our lives in a way that’s pleasing to God. Do not boast.
Confession: I humble myself before God, and I do not boast, but I am thankful always.
