Love Isn’t Envious

1 Corinthians 13:4 (AMPC)

“Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.”

‎Envy is not the way of God. It’s not the fruit of the spirit and an envious person doesn’t portray the love of Christ. Envy is a painful or resentful awareness of an advantage enjoyed by another joined with a desire to possess the same advantage. Rather than envy , why not rejoice at people’s success and wish them well.

God’s aware of all our needs and He is faithful to all His children. If you get envious of your brother, you’re saying God is partial and He doesn’t love you because you’ve believed he can’t meet your needs. But you should know that’s not true, know that God loves you.

When situation that wants to provoke envy arises, genuinely rejoice with the fellow and constantly remind yourself that God loves you, too. Rid yourself from any form of envy and see how God floods your heart with peace and joy.

‎When you envy others you open the door of your heart to offenses, discouragement, anger, hatred, bitterness and many other unpleasant things. Envy is bad and it does no good. It’s part of the enemy’s strategy to corrupt your mind, limit you and put you in bondage. Envy will tie you on a spot when you’re meant to have moved forward. You must beware of envy and constantly ask God to fill your heart with love to the brim.

Confession: For the love of God rules my heart, envy doesn’t have a foothold in my heart.
