“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Ella has been afraid of starting her own business. She was afraid of failing, being rejected, and embarrassment. One evening, during DISCIPLESHIP CLASS, the minister taught on THE POWER OF TAKING FIRST STEPS and that was it. She believed strongly that was what the LORD was communicating to her and she returned home that night to register her company.

That singular act of obedience ignited courage within her, and in the space of 7 months, her catering business flourished and prospered beyond her imagination. Ella learnt that fear loses its power any time we STEP OUT IN FAITH, trusting the Spirit of power, love, and sound judgment.

Yes, I agree with you that fear comes naturally, but you as a believer must not allow fear dictate your actions or even inactions. God has given everyone of us, who are saved the Spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. So, when fear arises, that’s an invitation and indidication that we ought to rely on God rather than our own strength. Courage is developed through action and obedience, even when we feel afraid. Ella’s story reminds us that fear can be conquered, and every step of faith strengthens confidence and trust in God.

Practical Application
Identify one fear that is holding you back. Ask the LORD for courage and take just one bold step towards overcoming it today, trusting the LORD for grace to be guided and empowered by His Spirit.

Confession
I am filled with the Spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. Fear has no authority over me. I am courageous, confident, and empowered to take bold steps in obedience to God. Every challenge I face is an opportunity to grow, and His presence strengthens me continually. I act with wisdom, faith, and assurance, walking victoriously over fear in every area of my life.
