2 Timothy 2:3 AMP
“Take with me your share of hardship [passing through the difficulties which you are called to endure], like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.”
One of the comparisons of a Christian is that of a soldier. Soldiers are men and women who fight for their land and/or country after having gone through various rigorous training processes in order to build in them the character and strength for survival even in the harshest of environments. A soldier is not an ordinary person and he’s in the service of his immediate society and commanding officer.
Paul wrote Timothy to endure hardship as a good soldier of Christ. This means that being a soldier of Christ will be packaged with hardship but no matter the hardship, he must endure and stay faithful and focused on the One who has called him. A soldier who wants pleasure always cannot be faithful and cannot last long.
Being a Christian, you are a soldier of Christ and you must know that whatever you do must be in service of Christ, our Commander. You must not ever allow yourself to live anyhow. You must stay strong and able. Take the fight to the enemy even as you defend your territory.
Confession: I endure hardship as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
