THE CALL TO MISSIONS

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20

The Church today faces a critical CROSSROADS. Comfort has become a trap. Routine has replaced radical obedience. Yet, the Lord’s command remains unchanging: “GO!” This is not a suggestion or a program but the heartbeat of the Church, the very mission for which it exists.

Missions is about OBEDIENCE, not convenience. It is about being willing to step into the unknown, trusting in God’s presence. The promise of Jesus is that: “I am with you always.” Whatever fear, uncertainty, or opposition you may face, God Himself goes before you. The call to missions is not just for pastors, evangelists, or missionaries, it is for every believer ready to carry the fire of God’s Kingdom into the world.

Looking at the life of William Carey, who is often called the father of modern missions.

In 1793, he left England for India, fully aware of the dangers, the disease, the culture he did not understand. Yet he believed God’s CALL, and his obedience changed the course of history. For 41 years, Carey laboured faithfully, enduring sickness, tragedy, and ridicule, but the result was amazing: thousands came to Christ, schools and Churches were planted, and the Scriptures were translated into multiple languages for the first time.

Carey’s life proves that God does not call the EQUIPPED; He equips the CALLED.

In our own generation, there are countless untold stories of ordinary believers who took the Gospel into schools, streets, villages, towns, and nations, trusting God for the harvest. From the inner cities to remote villages, God is raising up labourers that are willing to obey, willing to sacrifice, willing to step out into the unknown because the HARVEST IS PLENTIFUL, AND THE LABOURERS ARE FEW (Matthew 9:37).

Missions is not merely about crossing borders; it is about breaking through the walls within yourself: fear, hesitation, and the comfort that seeks to hold you back. It is about surrendering every part of your life to the LORD, living in total obedience, and becoming a vessel through which His Kingdom flows. Your words, actions, and your very presence are meant to carry the light of the Gospel into places that are darkened by doubt, oppression, and sin.

Today, the LORD is calling you: to hear His voice above the noise of distractions, above the chatter of fear and the whispers of delay. He is calling you to step boldly into the assignment He has prepared for you, to move beyond hesitation, and to embrace the destiny He has placed within your hands. Every challenge you face is an opportunity for God’s power to manifest. Every door that seems closed is a stage for His glory to be revealed.

The harvest is ready, but it waits for those willing to move beyond themselves, those willing to lay down comfort for obedience, and courage over convenience. The time for waiting is over. The call is clear. Will you rise? Will you step forward, knowing that the Spirit who calls you is faithful to equip, protect, and guide you?

Rise, for the Kingdom needs you. The world is waiting for your faith in action, your courage in obedience, and your willingness to be used mightily by God.

The same God Who empowered William Carey and countless others to obey is with you today. The harvest is ready, and eternity is at stake. The question is not if you can, but will you answer the call?

Grace to you!

See you tomorrow!
