1 Timothy 6:6 (AMP)
“[And it is, indeed, a source of immense profit, for] godliness accompanied with contentment (that contentment which is a sense of inward sufficiency) is great and abundant gain.”
The life of Joseph is filled with important lessons for Christians and we must learn those lessons as disciples of the Christ.
After Joseph had assumed the position of the Prime Minister in Egypt, it was never for once recorded that Pharaoh had to sanction him for embezzling money neither was he being dishonest with money and resources in the land of Egypt. The position that was given to him was a very delicate one because he was a man that was given full authority to carry out any assignment or task in Egypt without anyone restraining him. Joseph had the power to make sure that for many years after the famine, his own people were still able to enjoy the resources and wealth he kept for them, but no, he didn’t do this.
He made a decision to stand out without being biased nor did he consider what men would do or say. The faith of Joseph made him different.
Unfortunately, we have several Christians today who cannot be trusted with money nor resources; they do not believe that if they are honest in the position they occupy presently that God can bless them after their service without them stealing the money and resources that’s meant for the masses.
A man’s faith in God is determined when he chooses certain things in his walk with the Lord but Joseph was not like that – he did not allow mammon rule in his heart but he allowed the love of God control his actions.
You cannot serve God and mammon and be truly blessed in this Kingdom. True blessing comes upon those who have decided to choose godliness and contentment above every other thing that might be around them. Know for certain that whichever position you are, it is more of a way to prove your allegiance to God.
Can you dare to be different in a place and circumstance where you can join the multitude to do evil and you will not be seen? And even if you are not seen, what about the God of heaven and earth, won’t He see you? Choose godliness above ungodliness in all ways. Be a Joseph in this generation. Peace!
Confession: Today, I walk in the victory Christ has won for me. Sin no longer has dominion over me. My old self has been crucified with Christ, and I now live by the power of His resurrection. I am free, I am righteous, and I overcome every sinful desire.
