The Godly Queen Hadassah (10)

Esther 8:15

“And Mordecai went forth from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, with a great crown of gold and with a robe of fine linen and purple; and the city of Shushan shouted and rejoiced.”

Times and seasons change as the Lord God of hosts commands and makes the miraculous happen. One hour is too much time for God to change the life and narrative of a man. The reason many seem to be unsatisfied with serving God is because they have not learnt to serve and worship Him in spirit, in truth and in deed and thus they expect God to give them a reward due to consistency and diligence whereas they haven’t exercised these two in their walk with God. God is much more interested in the relationship between you two than any blessing He can give you. Mordecai and Esther, although now live in wealth, never allowed their present state of royalty take away their precious relationship with God. You are not just an entity that is blessed with the blessings of God, but a man in whom is the Spirit of God, doing the will of God.

When the righteous rule, the people rejoice, and this was the experience of Mordecai after he was promoted and honoured by the king. Be reminded that Haman, the enemy of the Jews, had been executed on the orders of the king on the same gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Satan will keep having dominion over you if you haven’t learnt to stand your ground in righteousness as a son or daughter of the Kingdom of God. Not bowing to the devil and submitting to God only in all things empowers you to resist the devil, and he shall flee. Do not assume that your prayers without a life of righteousness and holiness are enough to scare the devil, and for this reason the Scriptures say the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avails much. Do you now see why Satan desires that you do not live righteously? Do not allow him the victory he desires.

Esther dared to be different, and Mordecai stood for God even in the face of obvious death and disaster to his people, and they both had cause to laugh last. Your victory is not just about your prayers but also your life of choosing to be different where the world expects you to compromise your faith. A little shift and compromise makes a man wander off the path of destiny fulfilment and outta the will of God. You can always make a different choice apart from the recommendations of the world system. You belong to God!

Confession: Because I belong to God, I dare to be different.
