The Godly Queen Hadassah (4)

Esther 2:22

“But Mordecai heard about the plot and passed the information on to Queen Esther. She then told the king about it and gave Mordecai credit for the report.”

When God does His thing, people might begin to ask questions, whereas God has a reason for doing things that may be unknown to men. For whatever thing that the Lord allows to happen in life, there is a reason for it. And there are men that He uses to ensure that His purposes are fulfilled on earth, and for that to be possible, He positions the right persons in the right places and makes sure that they do the right thing at the right time.

After that, Esther had been made Queen, it happened that two of the King’s guard, who were eunuchs, were angry at him and plotted to kill him. They, being the King’s guards, must have been men who knew the security details of the palace to an extent, and so their plans could be carried out. These two must have had men who would be loyal to them as well and help carry out their evil plan against the king. But thankfully, Mordecai heard of it and informed Queen Esther about it, who later informed the king, so that necessary investigations could be carried out. This did Mordecai do, not in order that he might be honoured specially, but that the king might be alive without the evil succeeding, and so that Esther would not be a queen without a king.

Queen Esther gave the matter so much urgency that the matter was duly investigated and dealt with, not placing funfair above the king’s delight and safety. Many people help others just because of what they would gain or the honour they would receive from men. You, as a Christian, must understand that ensuring that others around you are safe from evil should be one of the things that must be a priority to you, whether they know and appreciate it or not. Those two guards could have approached Mordecai to bribe him handsomely against the king, but someone like Mordecai would have declined such an offer and made sure that Esther, who had higher power than he, was involved. Whichever position God places you, it is to the end that you serve his purposes; do not allow wealth and riches to make you lose focus on what God has put you in a place to do. And your primary assignment in any place you find yourself is to be a Christian whose life glorifies God.

Confession: Above the material possessions that I might have access to wherever I am, I choose to glorify God with my life.
