The Godly Queen Hadassah (9)

Esther 7:2

“And the king said again to Esther on the second day when wine was being served, What is your petition, Queen Esther? It shall be granted. And what is your request? Even to the half of the kingdom, it shall be performed.”

God has always been miraculous and unpredictable when it comes to answering the prayers of His beloved. When Esther went to pray, all other Jews included, her physical mind couldn’t have fathomed what God had in plan to do until those miracles and wonders began to take place. Esther must have been taught that God is the All-knowing and All-powerful, and there is nothing He cannot do, nor is there any situation that He cannot turn around. Many would have prayed and even fasted because of certain issues of life, but because they haven’t been seeing visible changes, they conclude too soon that God has forsaken them and has not inclined His ears unto their prayers. This is not so. The answers to a man’s prayers most times do not come with pomp and pageantry, but they come quietly but with significant effects.

When Esther had entered the court of the king and she had been told to mention anything she wanted, ordinarily, she should have accused Haman right away but no, she didn’t do that. She allowed the wisdom to continue working in her and lead her to victory. Your own wisdom can never be an answer to your prayers; therefore, you must allow the wisdom of God to lead you in all things. The king gave Esther an open cheque to ask for what she wanted, and it would be granted unto her immediately and innumerably. There are many times that God has given many persons an open cheque like this, but they never got anything tangible out of it because they did not allow the wisdom of God to lead them in their requests. The wisdom of God leads a man to request whatever is the will of God.

God had a plan in mind while making Haman come for Esther’s feast, thinking he was being honoured. The same night he proposed to end Mordecai was the same night the King could not sleep because he needed to, by the injunction of the King of Heaven, bless Mordecai. Do not be in haste to receive any reward. It is God who rewards a man appropriately at the right time. Anyone who would stand to make a difference for God must be one who will not bow to the worldly system or worldliness in all forms. It is not everyone who would be an Esther in this generation, while it is not everyone who will be a Mordecai as well. The most important thing is to know where God has called you to stay and remain faithful there.

Confession: I know and understand God’s purposes for me, and I am aligned with them.
