Text: John 8:12 (NKJV)
“Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
Light is a force that draws one close to its source. The beauty and radiance of light invites the beholder to its source at every opportunity. Beautifully, the closer you come to the source, the brighter it looks — because more light energy reaches you and as you move farther away, it looks dimmer.
The more you move closer to Jesus, the LIGHT, the more you become like him. 2Corinthians 3:18 – “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” As we get closer and closer to JESUS, we begin to act like Jesus, talk like Jesus, our hearts begin to align to the thoughts of the Kingdom. We unconsciously express the nature of Christ embedded in the fruit of the spirit.
Moving away from Jesus the LIGHT is moving closer to the kingdom of darkness and that brings about the expression of the works of flesh. A man far from Jesus is a man close to sin. The only way to translate from a sinner to a righteous man is moving closer to JESUS. Works of the flesh thrive in darkness. You must make up your mind today to move closer to the LIGHT.
Confession: I move close to Jesus the Light daily in order to behold His beauty and glory to be like Him.
