THE POWER OF SECRET DEVOTION

“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” – Matthew 6:6

Susanna Wesley, mother of John and Charles Wesley, raised 19 children in a small home under difficult financial conditions, yet she maintained a disciplined secret prayer life. When she needed solitude, she would sit in a corner and pull her apron over her head – a practice her children already knew was her saying she did not want to be disturbed. From that hidden altar emerged two sons who later sparked revival across England and America. Her unseen devotion shaped visible history.

Beloved, be aware that public impact is born in private surrender and God rewards what is done in secret because intimacy with Him builds spiritual depth. Before there is influence, there must be communion. The strength of your life is determined by the health of your private altar. Secret devotion develops spiritual authority that no applause can produce.

Practical Application: Spend 20 uninterrupted minutes alone with God today in complete privacy.

Confession: My secret place is strong. I meet God in private, and He establishes me in public. My life is rooted in deep communion with Him. Amen
