Philippians 4:8 [KJV]
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
The mind of man is one that needs to be worked upon daily by the Holy Spirit in order that it might produce fruits that are Godly in form of actions, reactions and inactions which sum up the character of a man. At the point that a man is born again, his mind is renewed and that means his thought pattern as well must experience transformation if such person will to the fullest the newly found lifestyle of freedom and liberty in Christ. The reason many Christians are still under the bondage and servitude of sin and flesh is because they have not allowed the reality of their nature to dawn on their minds and so it became a difficult battle for them to live in the fullness of God for them. What a man thinks on determines the quality of his life and will eventually decide the results that his life will produce outwardly.
What goes on in the inward part of a man tells much on what will be the outward expression of such man. You have tried many things you know, different methods you find readily available to you and strategies that you have been taught but you are not yet seeing changes in your life, well, perhaps it is time you consider what have occupied your thoughts. If you are still thinking about who you were and not who you are, your progress in all areas of life will be hindered. It is true that you used to live in a world of sin and iniquity but now that the Lord has met with you, you are no longer who you were. You are now a new creature according to 2 Corinthians 5:17.
What the devil does is to make you think and believe that you are still who you were before Christ came into your life. However, the Holy Spirit wants you to start thinking differently of yourself and believe the truth that you have experienced in Christ. Either you just accepted Christ, or you have accepted Him for many years now, what has been limiting you from experiencing certain dimensions of God is what you have chosen to believe and think about, not necessarily a dark force somewhere. The reason you are still under the subjection of the forces of darkness and demons is because you have always thought they still have a power over you to hold you down but you should change that thought pattern now because you are now a new creature under the dominion of light and Lordship of Jesus Christ, The Light of the World. Hallelujah!
Confession: I am a New Creature and I now live under the Kingdom of Light.
