Colossians 4:6
Let YOUR SPEECH at all times be gracious (pleasant and winsome), seasoned [as it were] with salt, [so that you may never be at a loss] to know how you ought to answer anyone [who puts a question to you].
The God of all grace is the One Who should control you in every matter of life. Every Christian is expected to have an understanding of what it means to accept Christ as Lord, not just as Saviour. It means that you have surrendered all that you are and have under the authority and rulership of Christ and so must your words be. Most times, what you allow into your heart defines what you speak forth from your heart, and so care must be taken. Being sent forth as light into the world, you have a responsibility to bless others with your words. There are many confusions and tribulations today that many are facing which a seasoned word will bring peace and consciousness of victory to them, this is why, as a believer, you cannot afford to be careless with your words.
Have you ever tasted a soup without salt? Do you know that taste? That’s the kind of taste the lives of many have which is the more reason you should allow your words to be seasoned with grace like salt so that your hearers might be blessed by it. Much more important is the fact that the words you speak to yourself have a lot to do with your destiny. You cannot be negative in your words and expect your life to be positive. Impossible!
The Word of God that you hear should also be confessed into your life with your own tongue. Your tongue is powerful. Death can be averted through the power of the tongue. Let your speech to yourself and to others bring positivity. It is whatever you say to yourself that you will later become. Do you know why? It is because your heart has the ability to hear what you are saying to yourself and it will act and condition itself promptly to those words that you say. Learn the right use of your tongue that you may enjoy the life that God has prepared for you. Peace!
Confession: I speak seasoned and gracious words to myself and to others around no matter what I face.
