Proverbs 18:10
The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the [consistently] righteous man [upright and in right standing with God] runs into it and is safe, high [above evil] and strong.
The coming of Christ made it possible for humanity to have an experience of true righteousness that is not gotten through works but grace through faith in Him. Every man that comes to Christ has received the life of Christ into him, and have thus been imputed with the righteousness of Christ. To silence the voice of the adversary over you only takes you to know the extent and essence of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for you. If David had approached Goliath fearfully, he wouldn’t have been able to do anything with his knowledge. It is rather sad that many Christians are afraid to stand in their position of righteousness in Christ to fight against the enemy of their souls.
When you allow fear grip you, you cannot do anything worthwhile with the knowledge you have. Boldness is a necessary tool if you will ever achieve anything tangible with what you know. And most times, boldness comes through an unwavering conviction which comes basically when you have allowed your heart to believe what you know to be true. In response to your conviction, your heart and/or mind reacts positively in such a way that makes such experience a practical one.
What the devil brings to your mind that weakens you so much that you won’t be able to resist him are your mistakes and transgressions. But you need to realize that the moment you have given your life to Christ, you ceased to be a sinner, even if by mistake fall into sin. You no longer have the nature of sin and you now have the nature of Christ though you are still in the flesh. Through Christ, you now have the power to live above sin and subjugate the flesh. With this consciousness, the devil dares not stand in your way. Let your mind do a thinking through on this.
Confession: I live in victory over sin because I have the nature of Christ.
