Think On These Things (23)

John 1:38 (AMP)

But Jesus turned, and as He saw them following Him, He said to them, WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR? [And what is it you wish?] And they answered Him, Rabbi–which translated is Teacher–where are You staying?

Everyone in the world is looking for something which may be a person, place, position or power. And what a man is looking for will determine where searches to get it. The coming of Christ to the world was to give life to those who are in search of a life that is different from the one they inherited from Adam. The life inherited from Adam is temporal while the life given by God through Christ is eternal. Being a Christian means you have consciously accepted the gift of life given by God through Christ but you should check again: When you accepted Christ, what were you looking for?

It is not good that we have goats sheep clothing in the fold. In your coming to Christ, what do you seek? The Gospel that brought many to Christ is that which promises them every goody of life and so when these goodies stop coming as expected, they begin to waver, shake and wobble in their faith in Christ. Some others were brought in by the Gospel which inflicts upon their hearts the fear of hell more than the love of God which gives heaven to all who accept Him. The Gospel of the Kingdom originated from love, sustained by love and is accomplished by love.

Many who were brought into the fold with fear have a high propensity to just live with heaven in view without doing much on earth as God would have them do. There are diverse reasons many came into Christ. You must think and meditate upon what brought you into Christ. Don’t be shocked that you might need to make a new confession as the Holy Spirit helps you to understand this. The Gospel of the Kingdom encompasses enjoyment, suffering, tribulation, eternal life from earth, relevance and eternity with God in heaven. Reconsider the foundation of your faith. Peace!

Confession: I live in the fear of God which is from my love of Him.
