Romans 14:17 (AMP)
“[After all] the kingdom of God is not a matter of [getting the] food and drink [one likes], but instead it is righteousness (that state which makes a person acceptable to God) and [heart] peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
Before Christ left this world, He gave many promises to us that have already become realities to us today. One of such promises is PEACE. Let’s check this Scripture – John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]” This is awesome! This is one of the realities of living in the Kingdom of God. Peace in the middle of a storm! Christ lived it, He promised it and we are living it today.
There are many issues in life that bring agitation, anxiety, worry and unrest. These issues are all most likely to be so important that they can take away sleep from the eyes of a man. But a man who is in Christ has been promised a different experience. Not many have consciously thought about these words of Jesus with respect to peace. The seal which makes your stay in the Kingdom a reality is the Holy Spirit and so the peace and righteousness you have is in the Holy Spirit, not in yourself. How well have you allowed this peace to take control of your heart even in the face of serious trials and tribulations?
Christ wants you to dwell in peace. What you are passing through might be so challenging that there is no rational solution to it, but Christ is saying He has given you His peace even in the midst of this. Have you allowed yourself to experience this peace? Your experience in this Kingdom determines your response to situations in the physical. Peace doesn’t mean storm will not come, it only means a reassuring confidence that you have in Christ who can silence every storm. This is the identity and reality of those living in this Kingdom. Think on this, duly and daily.
Confession: In the midst of any storm, I have peace because Christ lived and promised it and it becomes my reality always.
