So yesterday, our beloved brother who is serving as the Misssionary Pastor in Oberan reached out to me to inform me of reconstruction of the Church building that has been collapsing almost every time there is rain or wind. I reached out to him via call and we had a long time discussing about the PAINS, SUCCESSES and LESSONS from the field.
It was after that conversation, while I meditated on the labours the LORD has committed into our hands in Lightbearers Christian Network, I decided to reach out to other missionaries who might need to read from me.
Not that I am also having it rosy but I have a burden to write to you today to encourage your heart and remind you, just as the Apostle Paul reminded the believers in Rome that “we have received GRACE and APOSTLESHIP for OBEDIENCE TO THE FAITH among all nations for His name” (Romans 1:5).
I am aware that there are going to be days when the weight of the calling may be very overwhelming; seasons when the fruit will look like they are few, the support might not come for a major work, and the hearts of men may sometimes be hardened to the Gospel.
Beloved, in those moments, I encourage you to let your spirit rise with Paul’s conviction when he said:
“I magnify my ministry” (Romans 11:13).
ALways remember that you were not sent by man, neither have you come this far in your own strength; rather you were “SET APART before you were born” (Galatians 1:15), and the One Who called you is faithful and HE WILL DO IT.
The success of your calling is not measured by NUMBERS or APPLAUSE, but by OBEDIENCE, SACRIFICE, and the ETERNAL IMPACT of each soul that hears the message of the Kingdom.
When Jesus told His disciples to “GO INTO ALL THE WORLD,” He knew that many fields would be hard and many days would be long and that was why He gave a PROMISE to us that, “Lo, I am with you always” (Matthew 28:20).
My beloved brother and sister, don’t diminish your assignment by comparing it with another’s. Whether in rural communities or urban centres, whether among thousands or just one soul, your labour is precious in His sight.
Magnify your calling by being FAITHFUL where He has planted you.
Magnify your calling by PREACHING the Word with clarity and power.
Magnify your calling by DYING DAILY TO SELF, so Christ may live more fully through you.
Let this be your banner:
“None of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I may finish my course with joy…” (Acts 20:24).
The King is coming, and your reward is sure.
We are praying for you. We rejoice in your labour. We stand with you in the Spirit.
Let’s all keep pressing toward the UPWARD CALL, until the earth is filled with the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.
Yours in His harvest,
Author
