Matthew 6:10 (AMP)
“‘Your kingdom come, Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.”
One of the important and unforgettable things Jesus did for His disciples while on earth was to teach them how to pray. Prayer is one way to know the will of God and also to be empowered to walk in line with that will. What must be the desire of every believer is that the will of God be done on earth as it is in heaven, but this won’t happen if we do not engage in prayer.
Prayer helps to position our hearts to know, understand, and do God’s will. This kind of prayer is not the one that is just done to have needs met, but it is for the purpose of knowing the mind of God. It works like a searchlight of the Spirit into the kind of God. Believers must be people of prayer if they will walk in the will of God.
Constant communion with the Lord empowers the believer to walk in God’s will. Sometimes, the will of God won’t be revealed in any spectacular way, but when the heart is aligned with God, walking in His will becomes our default mode. More than you pray for needs to be met; you must know to pray for the will of God to come to pass. That’s what makes the difference. And it is what God desires of you.
Confession: The will of God is made known to me, and I am empowered by the Spirit to walk in it.
