Luke 11:34
“YOUR EYE IS THE LAMP OF YOUR BODY; when your eye (your conscience) is sound and fulfilling its office, your whole body is full of light; but when it is not sound and is not fulfilling its office, your body is full of darkness.”
In the words of Jesus, there is a possibility that the light in a man, which is the eye, becomes darkness as written in Luke 11:35 – “Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.” If the light in you will not be turned to darkness, it won’t come by default, proper care must be taken to avoid such occurrence. In this present world, almost everything visualized by the world has the potential to corrupt a man and make his heart evil and rebellious against God. Intentionality must become the order, for in no time, the contents that come through your become the abundance that fills your heart.
As a Christian, not all books, movies, TV series, pictures, and journals are made for you to read and watch. You cannot be a Christian and still feed your eyes with movies and pictures that show and express nudity. There are nude pictures spread all over the internet especially on trending social media platforms which have a subtle way of corrupting the heart of a believer. There are books and journals that are filled with exotic contents that can pollute the heart of a believer. Someone may want to say that all these are not things that matter but the truth is that, subtly, the devil has used these to keep many under his servitude for years.
What you read and see with your eyes has a way of influencing your thought pattern. This is why you must ensure that a day do not pass without you beholding wondrous things in the law of the Lord. Read your Bible more than you read any other book. The primary book given to Christians to read is the Bible and in it, as much as the Holy Spirit grants you revelation, is the solution to any and every problem you can ever think of.
Confession: Today, I make a covenant with my eyes that I shall not behold that which corrupts the heart, nor take thought of it.
