God’s Will in Marriage (5)

Ephesians 5:22, 25 (AMP)

“Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as [a service] to the Lord. Husbands, love your wives [seek the highest good for her and surround her with a caring, unselfish love], just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her.”

In the matter of marriage, according to the Scriptures, the wife is obligated to submit to her own husband, while the husband is obligated to love his own wife and care for her affectionately. Love and submission are not power struggles; they are acts of mutual surrender to God’s will.

The husband mirrors Christ’s sacrificial love, and the wife mirrors the church’s trust in Christ. For singles, learning this before marriage prevents future conflict. One of the ways to learn this is by submitting to God completely. Submission is the act of submitting, yielding, or surrendering. A woman who has not yielded or submitted to God completely will find it difficult to submit in marriage.

Being a man, you must learn to love unconditionally even before you are married. If you cannot trust God as your leader and acknowledge Him in all your ways, it will be difficult to trust the leadership of a man. The will of God in marriage is not about who leads more; it’s about who loves and serves better.

Confession: In my marital relationship, the Word of God is my manual, and I live by it.
