Who is a Christian? (1)

Romans 10:9 (AMP)

“Because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

The word ‘Christian’ was first given to the disciples in Antioch, not by God but by Gentiles who saw them live like Christ in all regards (Acts 11:26). You cannot be a Christian if you’re not born again. The first thing that qualifies you as a Christian is your salvation. In the system of God, your sincerity doesn’t matter, but the structure you follow does. You have to first believe in Jesus and confess Him as your Lord to be saved.

Who’s a Christian? A Christian is one who is like Christ in words, deeds, actions, and lifestyle. A Christian is someone whose heart is right with God. God sees the heart of every man. A fellow man can be deceived, but not God.

If your heart is not right with God, it means you’ve not come to the understanding that Jesus is your Lord and Saviour. When you come to the realization that you now have a Lord and you can only do as He bids, you begin to die to self and start living a life that conforms to the will of God.

It is not a problem to start again, but it is a problem to continue in error in the Kingdom. If you claim to be born again but you’ve not at any time believed in Jesus and confessed His Lordship, do that now by saying this: Jesus, I believe you’re the Son of God, and you died for me, and I confess you as my Lord.

Confession: I believe Jesus is the Son of God who died for me to be saved, and I confess Him as Lord now and always.
